A Week in Pictures #5

Sunday - Maya is just getting so big. I look at this picture and wonder how it is possible that she has grown up so fast. She interacts and plays with us so much and has really started to show her sweet personality.
Monday - Today I forgot to take a picture so I have included a picture of a Monday several weeks ago, the day Maya was born. Look at this little angel! Can you believe she was once so small and fragile.
On Tuesday evening we got ready for the big day on Wednesday. Maya had to go in for tubes in her ears, so we gave her a bath and fed her a lot (before midnight) to help her through until after the surgery was over. Here she is in her little bath - clueless about what the next day will bring.
Wednesday - doesn't she look dashing in her hospital gown? She did so well with her little surgery. She was such a good sport about not eating. It was hard right after until she could get reoriented and wake up, but the rest of the day she was her own sweet self. We are so grateful that everything went well and that she has her tubes now.
Thursday - Now for camping! Maya's first camp out. We went to the Uintahs and had a great time with all the Flakes we know and love. Maya got all bundled up for the mountain weather and she loved being outside.
Friday - Happy Camper! What a face!
Saturday - We made it home and everyone needed a nap. Good night Maya! May you sleep through the night...

A Week in Pictures #4

We went to Magna to see Uncle Darl get set apart as the 2nd counselor in his bishopric at church. We got to see all the cousins and Gramma and Grampa.
Maya went to see the ENT again today. She is going to have tubes put in her ears next week. How do you like her sweet little yellow dress? Her babysitter got it for her. How about those eyes?
Maya is spending more and more time on her tummy these days. She's rolling over like a pro. Today we had dinner with Uncle Redge and Aunt Marissa. They made yummy BLTs.
I love to look at my daddy and my toys.
Good morning. Maya is always so excited to be awake for the day. This is the sweetest time of the day when Maya is awake and talking, and kicking and punching in her little sleeper. She is super active these days. This afternoon Gramma Flake came to visit and took us out to dinner and stayed the night.
Gramma got me dressed today and played some peek-a-boo. I got to stay home with daddy and listen to Pres. Obama talk about health care reform. I like to be an informed person, you see. I also got to watch a movie with mommy and daddy until I drifted off to sleep.
We went to the Stake Celebration for breakfast and did some errands. I got to go on a walk, but it was a little chilly so I put on my hoodie. Wonder what another week will bring...

A Week in Pictures #3

Of all the precious moments we have had this week with Maya, I must say that my favorite was this morning at about 4:20 A.M. We were sound asleep (again) until we heard a little screechy chatter from the other room. Wide awake and happy, Maya was belting out her little screeches and letting us know she was awake and ready to play. Needless to say, I did NOT get up and take a picture. I did get up and put her binkie in her mouth and she fell back asleep (and so did I). After a long day of church and a picnin, little Maya needed a little nap. I love this picture because of the way she is clutching the blanket.
Maya is so interested in Barstow these days (the feeling is not so mutual with him however). It is pretty cute though when Barstow takes some interest in her and gives her a good lick on the mouth.

Maya is so alert and ready to tell you all about what's going on with her. What a grower - it seems everyday she is getting bigger and more aware of what is going on.

It's official! I rolled over all by myself from my back to my tummy. Mommy left me in my crib so she could go dry her hair Wednesday morning, and I was like this when she got back. Suddenly, Mommy and Daddy were making a fuss, congratulating me and taking my picture. Silly Mommy and Daddy.

Another day, another outfit. Today was actually my first swim! My babysitter, Amanda bought me the cutest swimming suit ever (sorry no pictures - yet). Mommy took me swimming and it wore me out in about two minutes (plus the wind was blowing and it was COLD). This is me after I got all dried out, warmed up, into my jammies, and ready for bed.

I try to help Daddy out by holding my own bottle now. I am so smart.

Another end to another week. I am tired and ready to sleep. Goodnight Maya.

A Week in Pictures #2

Another busy week for this sweet little child. I'm amazed at how rewarding it is to have a little baby around. She is such a blessing and unifying presence in our home. Maya is the center of our world right now. On Sunday Maya was stunning. She looked like a pretty princess in this beautiful dress. She is such a good sport at church when everyone wants to see her and hold her. I'm grateful to everyone who helps us out in church and just expresses their support. It really does take a village to raise a child.

Monday was a really tough day for little Maya. She started out with an icky little cold and to top it off she had to go to the doctor and get her 4 month shots. She was miserable in the afternoon with her fever and stuffiness. One of the only things that would soothe her was dancing with Daddy. Here is the little dear with Sachin. Notice the watery eyes and runny nose. Poor Maya. But she tried so hard to be her happy little self.

Maya was so much happier on Tuesday. She's really loving to play with her toys on the floor. She entertains herself quite nicely. See the parrot? Its eyes match Maya's.

Wednesday - Go Aggies! Maya is true blue wearing her Aggie top. Her blond cousins came to visit and got to hold not-blond Maya. It's a cute contrast.

Look it this precious little hand. Stop growing, Maya! It's going too fast. You are getting so big. I hope I can always remember how precious you are right now.

I went to work with Mommy for a few minutes in the morning. It was a little cool out so we put on my bunny hat. Today I also went grocery shopping and to dinner at the Beehive Grill with Mom and Dad and our friends Melanie and Shane. I'm so busy!

Saturday morning means cartoons and cereal when you're a kid. We thought we'd try it out on Maya. No cartoons (though I'm sure Maya would have loved it - she just stares if the TV is on), but we tried rice cereal. She didn't seem to mind the taste or the texture, but she hasn't quite got the concept of swallowing the stuff. She's a pro, however, at spitting it out!
